'Indelible' ... that which cannot be removed, washed away, blotted out, canceled, effaced, or erased. It is unforgettable, lasting, and cannot be lost or annulled. Such is the grace of God as it is beautifully expressed in Isaiah 49:16 ...
Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands.
His love is everlasting. You are not chalked onto God's hands, nor painted on so that you might be washed away at any moment. You are permanently 'engraved'.
Spurgeon - Our name is there, but that is not all: I have graven THEE. See the fullness of this! I have graven thy person, thine image, thy case, thy circumstances, thy sins, thy temptations, thy weaknesses, thy wants, thy works; I have graven thee, everything about thee, all that concerns thee; I have put thee altogether there. Wilt thou ever say again that thy God hath forsaken thee when he has graven thee upon His own palms?"
You are secure for time and eternity. Every detail of your life is known to Him. Every breath you take and every beat of your heart is precious to Him. You are never out of His mind.
And I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. John 10:28
When you are tempted to think that God has forgotten you, make your way to the foot of the Cross. Recall the cruelty of the nails driven into Christ's hands on your behalf ... those scars will remain throughout eternity as a symbol of His love for you.
... and on the day that you received Jesus as Lord, your name was graven on those same palms.
