We read the news each day and wonder why people do the things they do. Based on what took place and the motive behind it, we draw conclusions about the character of those involved (whether good or bad). From the thing done, we understand the heart of the doer and forecast what he might do in the future.
You can use that same judgment when seeking answers from the throne of God. Scripture reveals the Lord's pattern of behavior ... that He is both 'faithful' and 'true'. Since His promises cannot be broken, our firm foundation is a settled matter.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in Him.” The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul that seeks him. Lamentations 3:22-25
The inconsistencies prevalent in man's thoughts and actions are not found in the mind and works of God. There is no 'shadow of turning' with Him. His mercies are always made new every morning.
J.R. Thomson - No day breaks that does not open up some new prospect of divine faithfulness and loving kindness towards the children of men.
As we go through the stages of our earthly pilgrimage, every 'fresh need' demands a 'fresh supply'. Our ongoing spiritual growth and sanctification bring about varying duties, new relationships, and changing circumstances ... all requiring renewed manifestations of the Lord's mercy and provision.
And ... God is faithful even when we aren't.
When you fall, rest in the knowledge that each dawning of the sun represents a new beginning ... one where the Lord's goodness, favor, forgiveness, mercy, and grace are made available to all who are in Christ Jesus.
