Cut off from God, condemned by God, an enemy of God ... a slave to sin, dominated by Satan, a child of wrath, a lover of darkness ... with a depraved mind, disordered emotions, a defiled body ... morally evil, spiritually sick, continually perishing, and destined for hell.
This Biblical description of those who are without Christ is rarely preached in today's churches.
Know this ... an undiluted sermon examining the blackness of sin is necessary for the Gospel message to shine fully. When one's spiritual condition is splayed open, the resulting impact is powerful to the pulling down of strongholds. Eyes are opened to the truth revealed by Jesus...
If you do not believe that I am He, you will indeed die in your sins. John 8:24
The Holy Spirit can then stir the conscience and move a sinner to the foot of the cross ... from his knees, he looks up and sees that his iniquity was born by the Lamb of God.
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:10
If you have never allowed the Word of God to examine your life; if you have never been broken by a glimpse of your utter depravity; if you believe that you are basically a 'good' person, somehow worthy of heaven ... your eternity hangs in the balance.
The opportunity to receive the gift of salvation is extended to you ... That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9
Call upon Him ...
Lord, forgive me. I know that I am lost in sin and that I cannot save myself. I believe that you are the only begotten Son of God, that you bore my iniquity on Calvary's cross, and that the grave could not hold you. By faith, I receive the gift of salvation and surrender my life to You.
You are lost no more.
