THREE WITNESSES

In a court of law, 'truth' is established when two or three credible witnesses have the same testimony regarding the one being judged. As to whether Jesus Christ is the Son of God, scripture reveals the reliable sources by which it is confirmed ...

This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ, not with the water only but with the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the witness because the Spirit is the truth. There are three witnesses, the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree. 1 John 5:6-8

1. The Spirit - The Holy Spirit bears witness through the inspired Word of God, the power to convict sinners of their need, and His continual affirmation that a believer's faith is not misplaced.

2. The WaterThis refers to Jesus’ baptism. The Spirit descended on Him as a dove and the voice from heaven declared, 'This is My beloved Son in whom I am well-pleased'. (Matthew 3:17)

3. The BloodThe Son of God came to cleanse people from sin and to redeem them through his death. His blood did that. As 'water' represents the beginning of His earthly ministry, the 'blood' is its victorious end.

The testimonies represented by Jesus’ baptism and crucifixion agree with that of the Holy Spirit. Religious attempts to accept one or two of these witnesses and omit the third is futile. They are forever linked.

Salvation is by grace through faith in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. If a man falls short in his personal assessment of who Christ is, his sins go unforgiven. He has no excuse. Not only do the three witnesses clearly speak to Jesus' identity ... today's true body of believers makes Him known.

The Son of God is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Receive Him without reservation.
