As Christians, we are expected to share our faith with a lost and dying world. Why would the Lord keep us here after we were saved if not to herald the good news that offers men eternal life?
Spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ is a high calling ...
When the message goes forth, souls are won for the Kingdom of God; but only if the 'glad tidings' are not compromised ...
1. Bathe personal evangelism in prayer so that you will be made a servant fully surrendered to the mission, brave in his duty, and deeply burdened for those who don't know the Savior.
2. The plan of salvation must never be 'tweaked' to make it more palatable for the hearer. Sinners need to know that there is no escaping God's judgment ... the penalty for their sins must be paid.
3. The brutality of Calvary's cross is offensive to look upon, but it is where man's redemption is found. An unfiltered description of what sin cost our Savior brings conviction and opens the door for repentance.
4. Use Scripture ... it penetrates. 'Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved' (Acts 16:31), 'He that comes unto Me I will in no wise cast out' (John 6:37), 'By grace are you saved' (Ephesians 2:8), and 'You are complete in Him' (Colossians 2:10).
An African proverb ... “There is only one crime worse than murder in the desert, and that is to know where the water is and not tell.”
We know where the water is.
