Trust (a verb) is not the same as faith (a noun) ... trust is what you 'do' as evidence of your faith.
... faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. James 2:17
So the practical application of faith in God is to obey this command ...
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5
Guzik - Trusting God with all your heart means to honor and acknowledge Him in all that you do. It is the choice to 'invite' Him into your everyday life and conduct. It is to practice the presence of God in the regular and sometimes mundane things that happen every day.
Don't place trust in 'self' ... human understanding is darkened by a latent sin nature, spiritual blindness, and hard-heartedness. Your 'common sense' approach to life will often contradict God’s infinite wisdom.
Waltke - One is a fool to rely on his thimble of knowledge before its vast ocean, or on his own understanding, which is often governed by irrational urges that he cannot control.
Our Lord is trustworthy...
He is God, the faithful God, who keepeth covenant and lovingkindness with them that love Him and keep His commandments. Deuteronomy 7:9
Put 'feet to your faith' by actively yielding to His divine direction.
Trust Him, pilgrim ...
