Jesus referred to Himself as the 'Son of Man' numerous times in the New Testament. A few examples ...
And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. Matthew 12:32
Also, I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of Man also confess before the angels of God: Luke 12:8
And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven. Mark 14:62
It is important that we understand the significance of this designation ...
For this reason, He had to be made like them, fully human in every way, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that He might make atonement for the sins of the people. Hebrews 2:17
Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death - even death on a cross. Philippians 2:6-8
For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. Colossians 2:9-10
I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, on the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, Daniel 7:13

Know this, pilgrim ... Jesus Christ could not have redeemed you had He not taken on 'your' form and shed HIs blood on Calvary's cross. Because He willingly became the 'Son of Man', He can now be your Advocate before the Father.
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15
