WALKING WORTHY

The apostle Paul exhorted believers to 'walk worthy'. Our actions are to match our testimony; our outward conduct is to match our inward conviction.

I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:1-3

We are to live a life that exhibits godly character, moral courage, personal integrity, and mature behavior ... all the while expressing gratitude to the Lord for our salvation.

For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Colossians 1:9-10

Understand, pilgrim ... the command to 'walk worthy' does not mean that you must do something to maintain your positional salvation. That was sealed by the blood of Christ.

Rather, you are to live in a manner that shows you already belong to Him ... Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. (James 1:22)

A 'worthy walk' is reflected in your behavior as the Holy Spirit transforms you into the likeness of Christ. The one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked. (1 John 2:6)

As you allow the Lord to rule and reign in your life ... you become effective ambassadors for His Kingdom.

Don't merely profess your faith ... live it out.
