HIDDEN

A follower of Christ is said to be 'hidden'.

The world cannot 'see' that a born-again believer has been spiritually put to death and resurrected by God to walk in newness of life.

From a surrendered heart comes this affirmation, 'I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me'. Galatians 2:20

We are defined by our identification with the Son of God. It is not enough to know that He died for us; we must also understand that we died with Him.

For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:3

This means our previous history (the old life) is over and done. A glorious future has arrived ...

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is. 1 John 3:2

When the Father looks upon those who've put their faith in Jesus' redemptive sacrifice on Calvary's cross; He no longer sees our latent sin nature ... we are 'hidden' in the righteousness of our Savior.

I count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; Philippians 3:8-9

The idea of being 'hidden' also relates to our safety ...

For in the time of trouble, He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; Psalm 27:5

In the secret place of Your presence, You hide them from the plots and conspiracies of man. Psalm 31:20

A life that is 'hidden with Christ in God' is unassailable. There are no caveats, no disclaimers, no asterisks. It is forever ... when Jesus said 'It is Finished', He put an irrevocable stamp on your eternal security.

May you rest in this incredible truth, pilgrim.
