MY FATHER'S BUSINESS

Even as a youth, Jesus' life was filled with God's anointing presence.

And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him. Luke 2:40

Our Lord's childhood was not just 'immature manhood'...

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. Luke 2:52

When He was twelve, Joseph and Mary inadvertently left Him behind In Jerusalem (having attended the Feast of the Passover). They returned to find Jesus fully engaged in a dialogue with the religious teachers assembled at the temple.

So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, “Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously.” And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” Luke 2:48-49

This is the first time in Scripture that an individual claimed God as his personal Father. Jesus was under His authority ... not that of His beloved earthly parents.

For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. John 6:38

We must remember that a true follower of Christ is a 'joint heir', having been given ... The Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, 'Abba, Father'. (Romans 8:15)

So ... are you about your Father’s business?

The world and the people therein (including family) clamor for our attention. End-time evil causes us to shake our heads in disbelief. False prophets raise our blood pressure when we witness their destructive influence.

Distractions from every quarter seek to disrupt our walk of faith. Do as your Lord did ... put aside everything that keeps you from your relationship with God. Don't allow all the negative to outweigh the 'good news' found in Jesus Christ.

Be a light in this dark world ... That IS your Father's business.
