When He was twelve, Joseph and Mary inadvertently left Him behind In Jerusalem (having attended the Feast of the Passover). They returned to find Jesus fully engaged in a dialogue with the religious teachers assembled at the temple.
This is the first time in Scripture that an individual claimed God as his personal Father. Jesus was under His authority ... not that of His beloved earthly parents.
