THE ONE TRUE GOD

We live in a world with many different religions, all claiming that they worship 'the one true God'. 

Only Christians know Him ... This is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent. (John 17:3)

The Lord's divine attributes are revealed in Scripture ...

He is eternal ... Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. (Psalm 90:2)

He is omnipresent ... Where can I flee from Your presence? If I go up to the heavens, You are there; if I make my bed in the depths, You are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there Your hand will guide me, Your right hand will hold me fast. (Psalms 139:7-12)

He is omniscient ... I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please'. (Isaiah 46:10) 

He is omnipotent ... Yours, Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and on the earth; Yours is the dominion, Lord, and You exalt Yourself as head over all. (1 Chronicles 29:11)

He is unchanging ...  Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, Who does not change like shifting shadows. (James 1:17)

He is personal ... The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9) 

False gods have been foisted upon mankind throughout the ages. If justice, love, truth, holiness, compassion, mercy, grace, and forgiveness are not your god's virtues ... if he did not give his only begotten Son to redeem man from the penalty of sin ... if he does not dwell in your heart ... he IS NOT the 'One True God'.
