Man's 'religion' is a vain attempt to lift himself up to God, to somehow play a part in his own salvation. But forgiveness of sin and true redemption is found in the One who came down to us.
Christ is the originator, the provider, and the sustainer of saving faith ... I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by Me. (John 14:6)
Salvation comes solely through our Lord ... Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2)
As the 'author' of faith, the Lord makes it possible for mankind to believe in the Gospel. As the 'finisher' of faith, He watches over it, cares for it, and will bring it to a successful end ... In Christ, you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority. (Colossians 2:10)
'Saving faith' was created by the Lord, not something we muster on our own ... For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Therefore, since our salvation is in God's hands, it cannot be lost or taken away ... a source of great comfort to believers, especially in times of doubt and spiritual struggle.
I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return]. Philippians 1:6
The only message that brings lasting peace is ... 'Salvation is from the Lord'.
