PERSONAL CONVICTIONS

Someone with strong 'personal convictions' is resolute in what he believes and unflinching when his ideology is dismissed or maligned by others. He is not swayed by their opinions ... regardless of the consequences.

For a follower of Christ, the Bible becomes his source for God's moral code and rules of conduct. The 'convictions' of a mature Christian are based on the inerrancy of the Word. He has personally witnessed over time that ... All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

'Personal convictions' should never be based on what we 'feel' about a matter. False teachings find a foothold when decisions are made through innate human instinct or emotion ... Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe. (Proverbs 28:26)

Deep 'personal convictions' help us quickly assess a situation and choose the right path. Being spiritually 'long in the tooth' brings stability ... We are no longer infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. (Ephesians 4:14)

People with no 'personal convictions' are indecisive by nature and easily led astray. Paul admonished us to ...  not be conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:2)

You must have a steadfast 'moral center' as you navigate a world steeped in 'moral chaos'. 'Personal convictions' allow you to endure temptation without compromise.
