I AM PERSUADED

Paul enumerates those things which we might think can come between the Lord and His beloved. He concludes that it cannot be done ... 

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)

NOTHING ... 

1. Death

The relationship between God and a believer never withers. It lives on even after your body dies; only made brighter and stronger by the grave ... Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. (John 5:24)

2. Life

During the brief time that a you are a 'sojourner' in this fallen world, the evil forces that opposed Jesus Christ will also come against those who love Him ... For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. (Romans 14:7-8)

3. Angels

The angels who serve God can never use their supernatural power to separate you from His love ... To which of the angels has He ever said: Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool? Are they not all spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation? (Hebrews 1:13-14)

4. Principalities 

There is an unseen evil force that seeks to disrupt your relationship with Christ, but it will not prevail in the end ... For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)

5. Things present nor things to come

Neither the trials you are experiencing right now, nor the trouble you'll encounter in the future can erase the knowledge of your place in God's heart. Your life is under His authority and belongs to Him ... the present or the future - all are Yours. (1 Corinthians 3:22) 

6. Height nor depth

Neither the height of prosperity, nor the depth of adversity can separate you from the love of God ... I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:12-13)

7. Created thing

This eliminates every possible threat that might bring doubt and fear into your relationship with God ... for by Him (Christ) all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or rulers, or authorities - all things have been created through Him and for Him. (Colossians 1:16)

The love between the heavenly Father and lost mankind comes through His Son. Jesus is the Mediator of love: it is in and through Christ that God can love us and we can love Him. 

Go ahead, pilgrim ... 'Be persuaded'.
