The Son of God established and completed the highest form of faith ...
Let us look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2)
He is not only the 'source' of our salvation but the 'sustainer' of it ...
For by grace, you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
The Author:
Scripture reveals the 'cost of discipleship'. Christ is the Originator of the only kind of faith that is acceptable to God. Outside of Jesus being 'the Way, the Truth and the Life' ... we have no hope.
The Finisher:
The Lord Jesus Christ presides over His divinely imparted faith. He promises to intercede for us, uphold us with His mighty hand, and bring us to a successful end. Our salvation cannot be lost or taken away.
Paul encouraged the early church ... I am convinced and confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will perfect and complete it until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:6)
Being 'religious' is not enough. If God through His Son is not the 'author' of your walk of faith and the 'finisher' of the road ahead, you are not a true follower of Christ.
