THE WARNING

Jude's letter to fellow believers warned of 'false converts' in their midst. He intended to write words of encouragement concerning their treasured common faith; but was moved to address the corruption that had infiltrated the church ...

Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt compelled to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to God’s holy people. For certain individuals whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord. (Jude 1:3-4)

He exhorts them to grow in their devotion to God, steering clear of those whose teachings distort the Gospel message ...

These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. (Jude 1:19-21)

Though he tells his readers to 'keep yourselves in God’s love', Jude also points out that it is God who 'keeps us' ...

Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. (Jude 1:24–25)

Many of today's 'so-called' Christian churches are leading their congregants down a road of destruction. Obedience to the 'doctrines of men' will never satisfy the demands of a holy God. The cleansing blood of Jesus Christ is the only thing that can prepare someone for the day of judgment ...

And although you were at one time estranged and alienated and hostile-minded, participating in evil things, Christ has now reconciled you in His physical body through death, in order to present you before the Father holy and blameless and beyond reproach. (Colossians 1:21-22)

Don't filter your relationship with Christ through a preacher, a denomination, or a set of extraneous rules of conduct. Jesus is sufficient ... the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
