The Lamb of God bore mankind's sin on Calvary's cross and the gift of salvation is yours for the claiming. When by faith you receive Jesus Christ as Lord, divine 'deliverance' comes in two ways ...
You are rescued from eternal damnation:
He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love. (Colossians 1:13)
Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come. (1 Thessalonians 1:10)
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. (Romans 8:1)
Charles H. Spurgeon - Salvation is, in short, deliverance from sin, deliverance from the guilt of it, from the punishment of it, from the power of it.
And from this world's corrupting influence:
He gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father. (Galatians 1:4)
The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment. (2 Peter 2:9)
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. (1 Corinthians 10:13)
Both aspects are available only through the person and work of Jesus Christ:
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him? (Hebrews 2:3)
Deliverance from sin and the influence of a lost and dying world ... this is what your steadfast faith ensures.
