GOING HOME

Today could be the day.

Biblical prophecy has run its course. Those whose lives are hidden in Christ are on the verge of going home. Scripture describes our exit from this lost and dying world ...

For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

If you've put your faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior ... yet are unnerved by the thought of His coming back: look away from the 'mirror of your discontent'. Set your mind on the sufficiency of Christ's blood to cleanse the vilest of sinners.

Assurance of salvation is not found in some 'goodness quotient' (how your life compares to that of others). The Holy Spirit's sanctifying presence is the evidence that you're a child of God.

When we allow Him to transform us into the likeness of Christ, an observable progression is seen in our walk of faith, and by it we know we belong to Him ...

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.

For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things, you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:5-11)

If you have never received the gift of salvation, bring your sin-laden life to the foot of the cross, look into the loving eyes of your Redeemer, and surrender all that you are into His nail-pierced hands.

It's time to go home.
