It is not enough to simply know 'about' Jesus. According to Scripture, the only way to be saved from the penalty of sin is to personally identify with His death, burial, and resurrection.
You must be able to testify ... I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)
If you've experienced this: in the eyes of God, your old, sinful 'self' no longer exists ... Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
The very Spirit that led you to the foot of the cross comes to abide within, and you gain His heavenly perspective ... Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:2-3)
Spurgeon - Aforetime we were natural men and discerned not the things that be of the Spirit of God. We minded earthly things and were moved by carnal lustings after the things which are seen; but now through divine grace a spirit has been created in us which feeds on spiritual bread, lives for spiritual objects, is swayed by spiritual motives, and rejoices in spiritual truth.
Because newfound faith and discernment are temporarily housed in your earthly tabernacle, it's hidden from the world ... It has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. (Matthew 13:11)
One day very soon, a great 'unveiling' will take place ... Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. (1 John 3:2)
Being 'hidden with Christ in God' is what secures your eternity with Him in Glory.
