The Gospel of Jesus Christ reveals what it means to be 'In Him'.
We find that He is not a distant and unapproachable deity, but readily available to those who earnestly seek Him ... The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. (Psalm 145:18)
For the believer, He is not only the source of life, but the sustainer of it ... He is not far from each one of us. For in Him we live and move and have our being. (Acts 17:27-28).
Every aspect of our walk of faith is in His hand ...
In Him we live: And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. (1 John 5:11)
In Him we move: Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:29–31).
In Him we have our being: All things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things are held together. (Colossians 1:16-17)
No other words more perfectly express our utter dependence on the finished work of Jesus Christ and His sufficiency to see us through to the end.
John Piper - At the heart of what it means to be a Christian is to receive a new identity. In Jesus, we do not 'lose' our true selves ... we 'become' our true selves.
Only 'In Christ' is your sin debt cancelled, your relationship with God restored, and your eternity secured.
