By definition, a 'freethinker' is a person who forms opinions based on reason and logic rather than tradition, authority, or established beliefs ... particularly those related to religion.
Atheists fit into this category. They maintain that there is no 'supreme being' and consider themselves intellectually superior to those who live by faith.
They actually have a 'belief system' ... unprovable theories to explain the cause, nature, and purpose of the known universe. Though they defiantly say, 'No God for me', they actually mean, 'No God but me'.
'Atheism' cannot be successfully defended. According to Scripture, it is a nonsensical pursuit ... The fool hath said in his heart, 'There is no God'. (Psalm 14:1)
Strobel - Essentially, I realized that to stay an atheist, I would have to believe that nothing produces everything; non-life produces life; randomness produces fine-tuning; chaos produces information; unconsciousness produces consciousness; and non-reason produces reason. Those leaps of faith were simply too big for me to take.
You'll be ridiculed for your belief in God at some point. When someone tries to discredit your faith, know that you cannot 'argue' someone into heaven.
