Many say they believe in Jesus Christ as Savior ... yet there is little to no evidence of a transformed life. It often appears that the only difference between them and an unbeliever is their weekly routine of warming a church pew.
They've become 'Christians' in name only.
Scripture reveals who we are and to what we're called ... You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may declare the goodness of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. (1 Peter 2:9)
We're to be noticeably 'uncompliant' ... children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world. (Philippians 2:15)
'Lethargic faith' runs counter to His will for you.
The signs are:
Spiritual laziness ... For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)
Resting on one's laurels ... Do not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and endurance inherit the promises. (Hebrews 6:12)
The Bible gathers dust ... Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the Word of Truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)
If this describes your walk of faith ... consider this a 'wake-up call'.
The Holy Spirit can move your soul from spiritual complacency to a vibrant, intentional, and purposeful relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Pray for that.
