If God is omniscient, with knowledge of every outcome before it happens ... why pray?
I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’ Isaiah 46:10
If God is already aware of every need, every thought, and every intent of our hearts ... why pray?
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give an account. Hebrews 4:13
If God is omnipotent, exercising unlimited power in accordance with His divine will ... why pray?
All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him: “What have you done?” Daniel 4:35
If God knows who we are and cares so deeply about our well-being ... why pray?
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalms 100:5
To infer that prayer is unnecessary based on the above truths is to miss scripture's broader teaching. Certainly, everything we need for life and godliness is found in God. He is willing and able to provide it ... but does not bestow these riches upon us as a matter of right.
So why pray? ... because our Sovereign God, who is indeed omniscient, omnipotent, and good, has established prayer as the means by which we receive what He has promised and ultimately fulfill what He has ordained.
Prayer is important to our sanctification ...
Charles Spurgeon - Prayer girds human weakness with divine strength, turns human folly into heavenly wisdom, and gives to troubled mortals the peace of God. Prayer is doubt's destroyer, ruin’s remedy, and the antidote to all anxieties.
And, if you desire to experience a more intimate relationship with the Lord of Glory, a wonderful fellowship that words cannot describe ... prayer is key.
It keeps us vertically focused in a horizontal world.
