Eyes naturally gaze upon that which captivates the heart. If we are drawn only to what this fleeting life has to offer, our ability to see Jesus Christ for Who He is becomes obscured.
But when you long to live in His presence, the 'invisible' comes into focus while the 'visible' grows dim.
We do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18
What you are looking for will determine what you are living for ...
For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. Romans 8:5
Reasons for setting your mind on things above ...
Faithfully looking toward eternity raises and refines our character.
With eyes fixed on the blessed hope, we are comforted ... even when distressed.
It prepares us for our departure and gives us confidence in the salvation that Jesus wrought on our behalf.
Look upon it with hope and live accordingly.
