A RESTING PLACE

The troubled soul inside every man desperately searches for respite. He tries everything to calm his mind, but there exists no 'rest' outside of a relationship with Jesus Christ ...

Come unto Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your soulsMatthew 11:28-29

Some try to find that 'rest' through ethical disciplines and philosophic undertakings. Untold numbers rely on human merit while others depend on protracted ceremonial observances, fasts and vigils, penances and pilgrimages, creeds and dogmas. But, these are all spurious attempts to find a 'rest' that is beyond their reach.

MacDuff - 'Come to me' is the call of many siren voices; titillating tones of questionable or forbidden pleasure, leading only to ... unrest and heart weariness. They are collapsing soap bubbles with but momentary iridescence.

Christ alone can placate man's ever-present longing for inner peace. His redemptive act on Calvary's Cross is all that can satisfy the emptiness inside. And ... it is offered freely to anyone who believes

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Hebrews 4:9-10

'Rest' for your soul depends entirely on the finished work of Jesus Christ. Quit searching elsewhere.
