Jesus took Peter, James, and John up a mountain to pray. Suddenly Christ's personal appearance was transfigured and ... a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” When the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid. (Matthew 17:5-6)
'This is My beloved Son'
The Lord was already satisfied with the eternal love of His 'only-begotten' Son, yet ... He would not rest until Jesus was 'the firstborn among many brethren'. God did not save us because 'He needed more children', but because 'we needed a Father'. Our adoption is, therefore, not for His gain ... but for ours.

'In whom I am well pleased'
This has often been quoted as, 'with whom I am well pleased'. But it is better interpreted as 'in whom I am well pleased'. Not only is the Father eternally pleased 'with' Jesus Christ, but the Lord desires that we see Him 'in' His Son.

'Hear Him'
New-age philosophies, perverted theologies, and false teachers clamor for our attention. Their seductive voices call to us, but God commands that we listen to Jesus ... for He alone is 'the Way, the Truth, and the Life'.

The Father's testimony confirmed that His Son is indeed the Sent One, the Messiah, the Lamb of God, the Alpha and Omega, and the King of Kings.
Place all of your trust in the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
