It is to be evident in the life of every believer. Your reverence for God and His holiness should be apparent to those who are lost. Godliness is not something you can generate in your own strength but is instead, made available through the Holy Spirit.

The 'mystery of godliness' referred to in the first line refers to the concise chronicle of Christ's life in the remaining lines. Only those who believe that Jesus was God in the flesh; that He was justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the nations, believed on in the world, and received up into glory ... can be transformed into an 'out-shining' of His godliness.
The sufficiency of Jesus Christ is the foundation upon which your salvation is built and your sanctification takes place, therefore ... Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16
'Godliness' is that light in an ever-darkening world.
