HE IS GOD

To have an accurate view of His power, His authority, His holiness, and His love, it is vital that we understand the 'supremacy' of Jesus Christ ...

For in Him, all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:16

This excludes us from saying that He is only one of many ways to God (as some believe). Jesus was not just some good moral teacher that you might choose to follow; He is God

He is before all things, and in Him, all things hold together. And He is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy. Colossians 1:17-18

Our perception of His person, His work, His kingdom, and most importantly ... our status as believers; hinges on recognizing Christ as Lord of all.

For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross. Colossians 1:19-20

This truth is essential for salvation. In order to atone for our sins, the sacrifice had to be pure and all-encompassing. Jesus' laid down His omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence in order to take on the form of a man and become the Lamb of God.

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being ... Hebrews 1:3

The doctrine of His 'supremacy' is essential to our worship of Christ. As believers, we must see Him as God, not just an integral part of the salvation offered to mankind.

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form. Colossians 2:9

The depth of His love for you is overwhelming when you see Jesus as Creator, Alpha and Omega, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords ... in essence, Almighty God.

He is worthy to be praised with every fiber of your being.
