LIVE OUT YOUR FAITH

True Christianity involves both 'believing' and 'behaving' the Gospel.

The pointed question remains ... What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? James 2:14

According to the Word of God, 'faith' and 'conduct' are inseparable ... man is justified by works, not by faith alone. James 2:24

Some would contend that under the auspices of 'grace', sinful behavior is paid for and thus ... inconsequential. Scripture repudiates that vain religious precept. Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Romans 6:1-2

Those who are saved have been crucified with Christ. We identify with His death, burial, and resurrection (pictured by baptism) ... so that we might 'walk in the Spirit, and not fulfill the lust of the flesh'.

Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

When the vital relationship between 'doctrine' and 'conduct' is lost, there is nothing left but a contrived toehold on God ... an unsuccessful attempt to console one's soul as it justifies and clings to this world's enticements.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2

When we stumble, we're forgiven. We regain our footing and go on by faith. Renewed day by day, sanctification transforms us into the likeness of Christ ... maturing us into vessels of honor, fit for His use and His glory.

A lost and dying world is watching our behavior. It will either be seen as evidence of our relationship with Christ or (if we remain in the flesh) judged as hypocritical. It is imperative that we 'live out' our faith ... light in the darkness.
