There are two kinds spoken of in the Bible ... that which is 'with' God and that which is 'of' God.
Peace 'with' God means ...
That He has judged your sin on Calvary's Cross ... that because of Jesus' sacrifice, He will never judge it again ... that His wrath is forever appeased because the blood of Christ is ever before Him. True believers know peace 'with' God is theirs, for it is 'positional' ... not based on a 'feeling'.
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1
The peace 'of' God is that which we can experience moment by moment ...
Sadly, many followers of Christ don't live with the peace 'of' God ... it is the heart's quiet assurance that the Lord is indeed omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent in the midst of the ever-increasing evil we witness today. Trusting God during these troubled times is difficult but necessary, for we are to be His light in a dark world.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
'Peace with God' depends on what Jesus Christ has accomplished on your behalf. 'The peace of God' is a protective garrison around your heart and mind when you trust in His Lordship.
