How do you live your life before this fallen world? Those who claim to know Jesus Christ as Savior should walk in a way that demonstrates total surrender to His Lordship. Believers are exhorted to be ... doers of the Word, and not hearers only. James 1:22
Paul urged the followers of Christ to 'walk worthy' ...
I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, Ephesians 4:1
We do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; Colossians 1:9-10
You know how we exhorted, comforted, and charged every one of you, as a father does his own children, that you would walk worthy of God who calls you into His kingdom and glory. 1 Thessalonians 2:11-12
First of all ... it is only in Christ that you are able to carry out this divine entreaty. A 'God-pleasing, fruit-bearing' walk is impossible in your own strength.
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me, you can do nothing. John 15:5
When we surrender to His will, Jesus lives His life through us. His is the only conduct considered 'worthy' ... nothing else can satisfy the holy nature of God. Christ pleases the Father and as we allow Him to rule and reign in our lives, we please the Father.
Spurgeon - When you walk with a king, you should be yourself royal in gait; when you commune with a prince you should not act the clown. Dear friends, may you know so much of Jesus that your lives shall become Christ-like, fit to be put side by side with the character of Jesus, worthy of your perfect Lord.
A worthy walk is defined as doing that which is good in God's sight. It is motivated by His lovingkindness, prayerfully sought, and Holy Spirit dependent.
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:25
Allow sanctification to complete its work and cling to that which you know to be true; it is 'Christ in you, the hope of glory'. Colossians 1:27
May your life display (before this lost and dying world) what an intimate relationship with the Lord looks like.
You are to be God's 'light', pilgrim.
