In the 'Word of Faith Movement', the believer is taught to 'use' God. This is in direct opposition to biblical Christianity ... God 'uses' a believer.
This prosperity theology sees the Holy Spirit as submissive by nature ... i.e. to do man's will. But Scripture teaches that the Holy Spirit is a Person who enables the believer to do God’s will.
Today's prosperity 'gospel' closely resembles the destructive sects that infiltrated the early church. The apostles identified them as dangerous and urged followers of Jesus Christ to avoid such teachings ...
They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions, and constant friction between people of corrupt minds, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 1 Timothy 6:3-7
Then He said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” Luke 12:15
Prosperity teachers claim that your 'words' determine everything that happens to you. Your 'confession' (especially the favors you demand of God) must be stated positively and without wavering ... then God is required to answer.
That is blasphemy. If the Lord cannot work until released to do so, then He is not Lord at all. This ego-driven religious system holds that faith is nothing more than a way to manipulate the 'spiritual laws' that govern the universe.
In reality, it is 'avarice' personified.
There is an irreconcilable contradiction between the 'prosperity gospel' and the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, best summed up in Matthew 6:24 ... No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
Don't fall prey to this 'doctrine of devils'.
