Spiritual uncertainty takes root when you attempt to interpret your 'subjective feelings' as though they represent 'objective truths'. The Word of God has much to say about salvation ... but says nothing about 'feeling' saved.
A believer is not to be preoccupied with 'soul-searching' introspection. He must stop looking inward for proof of salvation and focus instead on the promises of God found in Scripture. The assurance that our heart longs for can only be found in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
Charles Spurgeon - The evidence that I am saved lies in this: Jesus Christ came to save sinners ... I am a sinner ... I trust Him.
It is 'fact-based'; not 'emotion-based'.
Reasoning from what we feel about ourselves rather than what we know about God is spiritually crippling. When we dwell on the man in the mirror, doubt gains a foothold. A Christian is to be filled with thoughts about his Savior, not obsessing about what his 'corpse' thinks ...
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20
God promised to save us if we come to Him in faith. He never promised that we would 'feel' saved.
