DRAFTING VS DRIFTING

Believers possess a 'living hope', secured by the steadfast Word of God and His unchanging character ...

God is not human, that He should lie, not a human being, that He should change His mind. Numbers 23:19

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. Hebrews 6:19

The hope of eternal life is found in Jesus Christ alone. He is the Anchor that holds us steady in this life and secures a future with Him in glory ...

In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:2-3

You are either 'drifting' or 'drafting' when it comes to your relationship with God.

Just as an anchor stops a ship from 'drifting' with the wind and current, abiding faith in Jesus Christ prevents your soul from wandering aimlessly. Some believers lack that security because they have not fully surrendered to His Lordship. We should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine. Ephesians 4:14

In the world of sports, 'drafting' is what an athlete does when he follows closely behind another competitor to reduce wind resistance and conserve energy. Jesus is our 'forerunner' and the closer we stay in contact, the better ... I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life. John 8:12

Satan would have you believe that you can follow Christ at a distance and that you're not worthy of intimacy with Him. Don't believe that lie.

If the cares of this world and the pride of life cause your faith to vacillate, get off that wayward path. Abide in Jesus' shadow and find rest for your soul.

Draft ... don't drift.
