GOD KNOWS

Nothing is hidden from Him. God has known you from eternity past, saw you in your mother's womb, watches the moment-by-moment 'now' of your life, and already sees everything that will occur in your future.

King David put it this way ...

O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it. Psalms 139:1-6

It can be intimidating to realize that the Lord knows you that well ... every angry, lustful, vengeful, or covetous thought does not escape His purview.

But our loving God also knows your secret longings, your hopeful desires, your insecurities, and your pain.

He knows your frailty ... For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. (Psalm 103:14)

He knows your needs ... Your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Matthew 6:8

He knows your mind ... The Lord knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath. (Psalm 94:11)

He knows your heart ... Indeed, God knows the secrets of every heart. (Psalm 44:21)

He knows your faith ... The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him. (Nahum 1:7)

He knows your struggle ... If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and He knows everything. (1 John 3:20)

Even though the Lord foresaw your sin in all its ugliness and depravity, He set His seal upon you and drew you to Himself through His Son's atoning sacrifice. God knew when you would appear in the course of time and what it would take to bring you home.

Your eyes will be open to it all very soon ... For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. (1 Corinthians 13:12)

Stay strong while you wait, pilgrim.
