KNOW HIM

We serve a wonderful God ...

Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22–23

He is ... steadfast and unchanging in all His attributes.

Your word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. Your faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 119:89-90

God’s Word is immutable. It was established before time began and will forever continue as an expression of His divine character. The Lord is always faithful to the promises therein ... even when we are not.

If we are faithless, He remains faithful ... for He cannot deny Himself. 2 Timothy 2:13

When you first acknowledged God's existence, you were not familiar with His nature. In pursuit of the truth, you may have opened yourself up to the teachings of a variety of belief systems, different denominations claiming that they alone hold the answers ... and/or the wayward doctrines of religious cults.

All that noise crashes in on a man's soul and he ends up wrestling with the false complexities of being Christian. It ultimately fails to deliver that which he so desires ... to 'know God'. If a sincere seeker silences the commotion, the truth found in Jesus Christ alone will come to the fore.

The character of our Heavenly Father is revealed in His Son ... He who has seen Me has seen the Father. (John 14:9)

Through Christ's redemptive act on Calvary's cross, everything is made plain to those who receive Him as Lord ...

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand ... I and My Father are one. John 10:27-30

If you study the Bible, a pattern emerges about God's trustworthiness...

First, we learn that He never changes and never lies ... God is not a man, that He would lie, nor a son of man, that He would change His mind; Has He said, and will He not do it? (Numbers 23:19)

Secondly, we learn that throughout history He has never failed ... Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love Him and keep His commandments, to a thousand generations. (Deuteronomy 7:9)

Thirdly, we find that He will never cease being sovereign, holy, or good ... Great is our Lord, abundant in power; His understanding is beyond measure. His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ. (Psalm 147:5, Ephesians 2:4-5)

A true relationship with God is very personal, established by faith in the finished work of His Son. Know Him intimately ... not filtered through a church, a religious leader, or mankind's philosophical ramblings. He longs for you to abide in Him.

Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy ... to God our Savior, Who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Jude 1:24-25

Run to Him, pilgrim.
