BE ON GUARD

The Word of God describes the heart as the source of one's thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, and actions. Therefore, we must be mindful of what we allow to come into that innermost sanctuary ...

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4:23

It is vital that we protect ourselves from anything that might impede our spiritual growth and cripple our walk of faith. Immersing ourselves in God's Word will bring the discernment we need ...

For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Romans 15:4

The things we think about, the things we set our affection on, the things we give our attention to ... these influence our relationship with God and each other. If we're not careful, negativity can take root and empower our latent sin nature ...

Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Ephesians 4:31

Focus on that which promises to bring peace to your weary soul ...

Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8

Placing a sentry at the doorway of your heart protects you from false doctrine, the temptation of sin, and that which would steal your joy.

Guard your heart, pilgrim.
