CREATION

The Lord has chosen to reveal His unsurpassed power and incredible might through the created universe.  

Christians believe that everything came into existence by His sovereign command and there was nothing tangible before that miraculous event took place ... By faith, we understand that the universe was framed and created by the Word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible. (Hebrews 11:3)

Furthermore, we understand that Jesus Christ was the source ...  

1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him, nothing was made that was made. (John 1:3) 

2. The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

3. For by Him, all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. (Colossians 1:16)

Of course, we are bombarded with the teachings of an atheistic worldview ... that matter has always existed and the current state of the universe happened by chance over billions of years. 

The Bible warns that any egocentric theory that draws man away from his Creator is a dead-end road ... 

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, that is, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, being understood by what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their reasonings, and their senseless hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools. Romans 1:20-22

Though our confidence in the Biblical account of creation is based on faith ... it is not blind faith. To those who earnestly look at the wonders of the universe, there is abundant evidence of intelligent design. It takes more faith to accept the theory of evolution - than to simply trust in the Genesis account of creation; God's Word concerning the existence of all things.
