BE YE SEPARATE

When you receive Christ as Savior, your life is transformed. You are now a sojourner in this lost and dying world.

For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. Philippians 3:20

We must abstain from that which would corrupt our testimony. The danger we face daily is - 'compromise'. God commands us to sever all ties with the sinful practices common to man ...

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. 2 Corinthians 6:17-18

Don't miss His two-part pledge to those who obey ...

1. 'I will receive you' ... Separation does not lead you into cold isolation. Intimate fellowship with God through His Son is the blessed result.

2. 'I will be a Father unto you' ... Above all, He loves His children and will never fail to provide for, nurture, and sanctify His own.

... Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let’s cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2 Corinthians 7:1

Scripture goes on to warn us concerning our associations ...

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14

The connection between those 'opposites' can only work if one abandons his moral center and moves toward that of the other. More often than not, it is the believer who is pressured into leaving his Christian principles behind for the sake of the relationship.

To live in this world and remain loyal to the Lord, we must focus on our 'eternal' hope ... not our 'temporal' pilgrimage.

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:1-3

Do not compromise your allegiance ...
