DEAD MAN WALKING

You are a dead man walking ...

Whether you're an unbeliever, 'dead in your trespasses and sins' (Ephesians 2:1-3), or a believer, 'crucified with Christ' (Galatians 2:20) ... you are on borrowed time.

You've already been tried, convicted, and sentenced. The penalty for disobedience to God's law is non-negotiable ... 'the wages of sin is death'. (Romans 6:23)

The good news is you are free to choose where your soul ends up. You can either reject the Gospel of Jesus Christ or by faith, accept it ...

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved). Ephesians 2:4-5

A funeral takes place when you receive the gift of salvation. Your 'old man' isn't regenerated ... he is put to death.

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20

In our present-day judicial system, if a person is convicted of a capital crime and executed ... his debt to society is paid in full (even if he were to rise from the dead, the law no longer has a claim against him).

So it is with the believer who dies in Christ. The law has no jurisdiction over the one who is 'born-again'. Heaven's courtroom has convened and the case has been settled ... once and for all.

If you are indeed a Christian, rejoice in the fact that you are a 'dead man walking' in newness of life
