THREE TIMES CONDEMNED

There exists an unbearable weight on the soul of man, a triple dose of sin laid on the back of every human being.

We are 'three times condemned' ...

1. Inherited Sin
Adam's inner nature was transformed by his disobedience to God's command. Iniquity and its consequences were passed on to all who came after him ... Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, so death spread to all people. (Romans 5:12)

2. Imputed Sin
Whereas 'inherited sin' morally corrupts our character, 'Imputed sin' affects our standing before God. We are actually credited with Adam’s sin and therefore subject to the penalty due him ... Through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation. (Romans 5:18)

3. Personal Sin
We individually fail in thought, word, and deed every day - personal sins that range from a slip of the tongue to all out disobedience. Immorality cannot be ignored ... If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (1 John 1:8)

We are under a curse and according to Scripture, the repercussions are severe.

Praise God that 'inherited sin, imputed sin, and personal sin' have all been crucified on Calvary's cross ... There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1)

You need not carry that 'threefold burden' any longer, pilgrim.
