Without faith, it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6)
The reason why many people struggle with the Gospel message is because it doesn’t match up with their perception of reality. They may believe that Jesus was a real person, that He led a sin-free life, and that He died unjustly by crucifixion ... but since they don’t 'see' how faith in Christ makes them righteous before God, the truth is cast aside.
The problem is that there needs to be more clarification on what faith is. Contrary to popular opinion, Biblical faith is not 'belief without proof' ... (as defined by those who mock Christianity).
God's Word tells us that ... faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality - faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. (Hebrews 11:1)
Paul's statement, 'we walk by faith, not by sight' ... doesn't mean the decision to follow Christ is without evidence that it was well worth the commitment. Once you surrender to His Lordship, He proves Himself faithful time and time again.
The more intimate your relationship with Jesus becomes and the more you see Him 'in action', the more ... 'the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace'.
The Word of God, the indwelling Holy Spirit, and a beautifully transformed life confirm that 'faith' is not just some arbitrary concept ... 'contrary to popular opinion'.
