HIS PERFECT LOVE

God's love motivates and influences everything He does. Benevolent and charitable, it seeks only what is best for the object of His affection. Our finite minds cannot comprehend the scope of 'perfect love', yet we are told that the gift of salvation originated from it ... 

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Once a sinner surrenders his life to Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit comes in, and supernatural love is divinely imparted ... 

Beloved, let’s love one another; for love is from God, and everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1 John 4:7-8)

In other words, that new nature is evidence that you are truly a child of God. It replaces your 'soul-driven insecurity' with 'blessed assurance' ... 

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18) 

The word 'perfect' in this verse means ... 'completed'. We have God’s promise that believers in Jesus Christ will not be judged with those who are outside the faith. 

By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, we also are in this world. (1 John 4:17) 

God’s love for you is not some fleeting emotional 'sensation'. It is eternal, steadfast, and sure ...

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)

If you're a Christian who fears pending judgment from an angry God, you've yet to grasp a full understanding of divine 'love'. Jesus bore all of His Father's wrath on Calvary's cross, so for you to lay claim on it ... is reprehensible in His eyes. 

The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ is God's finished work of grace. 

Don't discount the cost of His love for you.
