There is constant pressure to conform to this world's understanding of a person's identity and purpose. 'Self-help' books and videos are incredibly popular these days, but the truth is ...
Man does not need to be 'improved'... he needs Christ.
Anything that emphasizes 'self' to the exclusion of God can never satisfy the desire to feel 'complete'. When the following Biblical truths are received by faith and applied to your life, the emptiness inside is sated at last. Every humanistic effort fails to fill that void.
A Christian knows ...
1. He is not the product of evolution, but wonderfully made ... God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. (Genesis 1:27)
2. He is loved beyond measure and redeemed by the blood of the Lamb... But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
3. He is born anew and cloaked in His righteousness ... Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
4. He is adopted into God's family ... But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. (John 1:12)
A believer's 'worth' is not defined by societal standards, personal qualities, or prideful achievements ... it is only found in an abiding relationship with Jesus Christ. Your 'true identity' is in Him and once you surrender to His Lordship, joy and peace are the blessed result.
