True followers of Jesus Christ recognize and worship Him as Lord. Salvation depends on it ... If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord', and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
We are to give the Savior a special place of honor. Peter expressed it this way ... Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts. (1 Peter 3:15)
In the original Greek, the word sanctify means to 'set apart'. In New Testament scripture, the title 'Lord God' consistently refers to Jesus Christ. Another version translates Peter's command as ... You must worship Christ as Lord of your life. (NLT)
'Sanctifying the Lord God' means giving wholehearted allegiance to Jesus Christ. He alone is deserving of your adoration and praise ... Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created. (Revelation 4:11)
When faced with what seems to be an overwhelming problem, we are tempted to worry. But when you trust that Jesus is Lord, His promise comforts your soul ... These things I have spoken to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33).
Many have a very truncated view of Christ's divinity ... failing to recognize that He always was, currently is, and always will be GOD.
