Biblically speaking, these terms are closely related but not identical. Grammatically speaking ... 'faith' is a noun, while 'trust' is a verb.
Faith is something you possess ... Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)
Trust is something you do ... Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5)
'Faith in God' is a confident belief that He exists as Creator, Sustainer, and Lord over everything.
'Trust in God' is a deliberate choice to exercise that faith.
It is only by acting upon one's convictions that rest can come to a weary soul ... You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You. Because he trusts in You. (Isaiah 26:3)
God alone is Who you are to trust (not yourself and certainly not the wisdom of this world). He is worthy of your trust ... The Lord is trustworthy in all He promises and faithful in all He does. (Psalm 145:13)
The believer's 'walk of faith' is an action. It is something you 'do' as a follower of Christ. In other words, 'trust is putting feet to your faith'.
