PAGANISM

Anyone who revels in gratifying the flesh above all else is considered 'pagan'. Today's sin-laden world puts this hedonistic, sensual lifestyle on full display. It represents the prophesied end-time depravity of those who reject the Gospel ...

People will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)

'Paganism' can also take the form of a perverted religion ...

To those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled. They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work. (Titus 1:15-16)

Most pagans hold to a few common beliefs ...

• The physical world is a good place, meant to be enjoyed.
But the Bible says ... Whoever chooses to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. (James 4:4)
• Everyone is considered a 'part' of Mother Earth.
But the Bible says ... God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. (Genesis 1:27)
• Every living thing is 'divine'. As such, all are gods and goddesses.
But the Bible says ... They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator - who is forever praised. (Romans 1:25)

We are seeing the consequences of 'paganism' in today's reprobate culture ...

Since they did not see fit to acknowledge God or consider Him worth knowing, He gave them over to a depraved mind, to do things that were improper and repulsive until they were filled with every kind of unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice, and mean-spiritedness. (Romans 1:28-29)

Satan is using the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life to destroy mankind. He is the 'god' that pagans unwittingly worship.
