SPIRITUAL MAINTENANCE

When we exercise our 'faith muscle' every day, the world's power to distract and lead us astray is weakened ...

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2)

If you are rooted and grounded in God's love, growth in your understanding of what it means to be His child is inevitable. Spiritual maturity comes through knowing who you are in Christ and yielding your life to those things that affirm it.

Two disciplines help a believer develop and maintain an intimate relationship with the Lord ...

PRAYER
Set aside time each day to talk to God and listen for His still small voice. Those who truly love the Lord are in a constant state of prayer ... Be persistent and devoted to prayer, being alert and focused in your prayer life with an attitude of thanksgiving. (Colossians 4:2) We are encouraged to 'Pray without ceasing'. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

THE WORD
Studying scripture is vital to your personal walk of faith. The Bible is God's love letter to mankind and guidebook for life ... For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

Don’t let your 'maintenance schedule' lapse. Guard your heart and mind by keeping the world's corruptive influence at bay and investing in your relationship with God.
