OUR SUSTAINER

Scripture reveals that it is by Jesus Christ that everything exists ...  

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. (John 1:1-3)

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14)

And Jesus continues to uphold His creation ... 

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. (Hebrews 1:3)

He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:17)

Mankind represents the pinnacle of the 'created' and 'sustained' universe. Every breath, every heartbeat, every moment of your life ... is under His Lordship.

But know this: The Gospel changed the natural order of things. 

The idea that a sinner can be transformed from a 'made' thing into a 'birthed' child of God is amazing. Heaven stands in awe, and hell shakes at the thought. 

We have an all-powerful Father who lovingly cares for His own ... The Lord is the sustainer of my soul. (Psalm 54:4)

If you feel that your life is falling apart, bring that brokenness before the Throne of Grace ... Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you. (Psalm 55:22)

The same God who keeps the planets in orbit ... holds your life in His hands.
