IN THE MEANTIME

Mankind is experiencing the final throes of the 'church age'. Prophecy is unfolding before our eyes ... and Christians will be going home soon.

Since all we've ever known is this lost and dying world, the thought of being raptured to meet Jesus face to face can be unsettling. Our sin-stained 'heart' wrestles with the idea of being in the presence of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

Jesus knew how difficult that would be for us to digest ... Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in Me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. (John 14:1-3)

What a wonderful promise for those who've been redeemed!
But, in the meantime, how are we to weather these tumultuous last days?

The Word of God exhorts us to ... Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord! (Psalm 27:14)

'Wait' in the original Hebrew means ... TRUST

When we do, trepidation gives way to confidence ... But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

Spurgeon - The Lord never disappoints the waiting soul. While waiting, keep up your spirits. Expect a great deliverance, and be ready to praise God for it.

Paul encourages us to not lose heart ... Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. (2 Corinthians 4:16-17)

What is the worst that the world can throw at us? ... To live is Christ, and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21)

This kind of unshakable trust and courage is only available to those who receive the gift of salvation. If you have yet to surrender, it's time ... Confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

Rest for your weary soul is there for the claiming.
